RaDAR’s stakeholders meeting in Naples

On the 27th of June, the University of Naples Federico II held RaDAR’s stakeholders meeting. The meeting was about the implementation and integration of the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) approach in a hospital setting. AMR is growing worldwide and even here in Europe, so it is necessary to take action to combat this silent pandemic.


The discussion highlighted the importance of rapid detection and control system for AMR. The RaDAR project put together health agencies, which provided research of possible innovative solutions to these challenges among European enterprises. During this event, representatives from Kelyon s.r.l were invited. Kelyon is the company awarded in the UNINA Call, and it is specializes in the design and development of eHealth solutions and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), showcasing their expertise and commitment to innovation. The aim is to implement a cross-border procurement system based on value, to face the AMR issue in an integrated manner. This event had as an objective the share of knowledge among the stakeholders, in order to facilitate the widespread adoption of innovative solutions. the importance of a shared definition of clinical needs was also highlighted, and the “One Health” approach, which integrated human, animals, and environment health.


Different panels presented practices in the management of AMR, such as in first aid, in the use of rapid tests, and in hospital management through integrated digital solutions. In this discussion speakers from RaDAR consortium took part: Vincenzo de Luca (UNINA), Maider San Torcuato Labaien (BIOGIPUZKOA), Berenice Cleuet (RESAH), Ana Alvarez Fernandez (ICO), Eduardo Padilla León (LRC), and Olman Elizondo Cordero. The last two panels were one with the representatives of RaDAR and the other with physicians, nurses, and coordinators of Naples hospital. Naples’ hospital will adopt the final solution, brough by RaDAR. RaDAR could have a significant impact on the rapid detections to support the medical staff.
