RaDAR at the “One Health High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance” in Pamplona

17 October 2023

RaDAR is proud to be present, represented by AQuAS at the  “One Health High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance” in Pamplona, on occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The evenet was held on October 18-19.
The Spanish Health Ministry, together with Plan Nacional frente a la Resistencia a los Antibióticos PRAN and the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios, organised this pivotal meeting on antimicrobial resistance as a global health problem, bringing together ministers from EU States, the highest-level experts of the national action plans against AMR and institutional representatives to discuss international strategies to tackle this issue, where Olman Elizondo Cordero represented RaDAR.

The unprecedented global impact of emerging infectious diseases, mainly zoonotic, emphasizes the critical need for a One Health approach. Antimicrobial Resistance itself demands such an approach, considering the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health. Spain’s 2014 National Action Plan on AMR aligns with EU directives, and under the 2023 Spanish Presidency, a high-level event aims to advance efforts against AMR with a One Health perspective.
